Teresita Goes to the Fair
Teresita took a trip to the Kentucky State Fair with Nicole and Jeff. They all attended opening day...which was also WLKY day at the fair and all our old friends were there.
First, we said "hi" to the guys behind the scenes. Greg stopped to visit for awhile, and Jeff decided to take full advantage of his time in front of the camera and let the excitement of the fair overcome his usual stoicism.
Then Troy joined the party and showed off the view towards Freedom Hall.
Greg and Nicole posed when Jeff took control of the camera.
Monica came over after her noon live shot and joined in a quick pic with Jay.
Inside at the WLKY booth, Jennifer and Larry showed Teresita the weather key wall.
Teresita decided to try her hand at singing the "What's Jay Say?" jingle. She really cut a rug in front of the key wall while doing so.
<-- Natasha was so happy to see Teresita. It's been too long since everyone had seen her.
Hi from Maxine, as well. -->
Troy didn't get enough time in front of the camera, so he stopped to say hi again while Teresita was hanging out with Dana.
Debbie took some time away from the station's CEO office to stop by and say hello to Miss T. -->
<-- Ann says hi. Nicole and Teresita were both appalled to watch Matt polish off a Krispy Kreme cheeseburger. (I mean, seriously, does the thing need bacon too????)
John could barely contain his excitement of being at the fair and talking to all the people, but he was happy to see T.
T's first culinary exploit of the day was a chocolate-covered frozen banana. (She REALLY enjoyed it!)
We all finally said goodbye to all our old friends and started wandering the exhibit halls. Teresita was fascinated by this handmade carriage.
She was also amazed at this shiny pulling wench.
No state fair is complete without stuffed dead animals.
The most famous link between Kentucky and Illinois stopped by to give Teresita his best wishes.
Then it was off to view the Lynn's Paradise Cafe Ugly Lamp Contest. A Ralphie lamp HOLDING a leg lamp was just TOO perfect, Teresita loved it.
There's just something about neon pink and blue owl lamps that you have to have your picture taken in front of.
You can't go to the Kentucky State Fair without stopping by to say "hi" to Freddie Farm Bureau.
After all the walking, it was time for another fair tradition and Teresita's favorite part...the Grater Tater and a nice, cold beer!
Time to say hi to our furry friends! (Before they leave for the grocery.)
Teresita thought this entry in the fish tank competition was just too cool to not take first, but alas.
After a very long day, Teresita, Nicole, and Jeff all headed home, a little tired, a little foot sore, and infinitely happier with their full sets of teeth and complete mental faculties.
